2 Days in Dubai Itinerary

This 2-day Abu Dhabi and Dubai tour package covers two cities in a short trip. The first day is spent in Dubai, with a morning city tour and an evening in the desert. The second day goes to Abu Dhabi for a private sightseeing tour and ends with a dinner cruise in Dubai Marina. It suits travellers who have two days in the UAE and want transfers, guides and activities handled in one booking.

Day 1: Half-Day Dubai Tour and Evening Desert Safari

Morning: Old Dubai and Modern Dubai

Your driver meets you at Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 8:00 AM, and the half-day private tour starts from there. The first stop is Old Dubai, the district around Dubai Creek where the city began as a trading port.

From there you walk through Al Seef, a waterfront area built in the style of the old Dubai quarters, and then board an abra, the traditional wooden boat, to cross Dubai Creek. On the Deira side you visit the Gold Souk and its rows of jewellery shops.

The tour then moves to the modern part of the city. You stop at Burj Khalifa for photos from ground level and spend time at Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain. The Burj Khalifa observation deck is not part of this itinerary.

At 1:00 PM you are dropped off at your hotel for check-in and some rest before the evening.

Evening: Dune Bashing Desert Safari

The safari takes you out of the city to the desert. It begins with a dune bashing drive of 30-40 minutes in a 4×4, followed by a stop at the dunes for sunset pictures. You can also try sandboarding and a camel ride.

The evening continues at the desert camp, where a host welcomes you with appetizers, soft drinks and coffee. Dinner is a BBQ, served while entertainment shows run, including a belly dancer and a Tanura performance. You can also take pictures in local dress.

The safari is a shared tour with other guests. After dinner you return to your hotel in Dubai for the night.

Local Expert Tip: The dune bashing drive is not recommended for pregnant guests or for anyone with back pain. If this applies to you or someone in your group, we can arrange a private car without the dune bashing drive for an additional cost. Let us know when you book so the change is in place before the safari day.

Day 2: Abu Dhabi Tour and Dubai Marina Dinner Cruise

Morning and Afternoon: Abu Dhabi

After breakfast you check out of the hotel and leave for Abu Dhabi on a private tour. The distance from Dubai is around 140 km, and the drive usually takes between 90 minutes and two hours depending on traffic and where you start. Your luggage stays in the vehicle during the tour.

The first stop is Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the main landmark of the capital, known for its white marble domes and large courtyards. Visitors need to follow a dress code, which we cover in detail in our guide: Grand Mosque Abu Dhabi Dress Code

Next you pass Emirates Palace and continue to Abu Dhabi Marina for views over the water. The last part of the tour is Yas Island, with a photo stop at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and free time at Yas Mall before the drive back to Dubai.

The tour ends with a drop off at Dubai Mall. From this point, luggage is the guest’s responsibility.

Evening: Dubai Marina Dhow Dinner Cruise

In the evening you are picked up from Dubai Mall by private transfer and taken to Dubai Marina for the dinner cruise. You board a traditional wooden dhow and sail through the marina with the towers lit up around you.

Dinner is an international open buffet shared with the other guests on board. Soft drinks and water are served, and alcoholic drinks are not included.

When the cruise ends, a private transfer takes you to Dubai International Airport or to a location of your choice in the city.
